Emily loves working with children, adults, and whole families, to help them communicate effectively. She became passionate about speech pathology when she was a child and saw the effectiveness of speech therapy for a family member. Many years later, Emily is passionate and keen to provide a high standard of therapy that is evidence based and effective, as well as being a positive experience for the client.
Emily has previously worked in the UK with both children and adults, and has also worked in Australia as a senior speech pathologist in adult rehabilitation. This involved helping adults with communication difficulties that can be experienced through stroke, head injury, or other neurological impairment. She has also had extensive experience assessing and treating children with a variety of communication difficulties, including: speech delays, literacy difficulties, language impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays and stuttering.
Emily has done further training in PROMPT, stuttering therapy, and literacy. She has many years experience in using the Lidcombe and Camperdown programs. She also has worked as a registered counsellor for a number of years, and brings empathy and warmth to her practice.
