Sydney Speech Therapy Reviews

100% of respondents rated our service as excellent!
Our clients love what we do. These are just some of the great responses from our clients when surveyed after their sessions this year

I have been on so many waiting lists around my local area for the past 4 months with no luck of securing an appointment. Within a day of making an enquiry with Eastside, reception returned my call and booked us in. Staff were so welcoming and the first meeting with our therapist Kalliope was such a positive experience for me and my son. It's usually really challenging whenever we go anywhere and I'm just so appreciative of the time she took to make him feel settled and I could tell he warmed up to her very quickly. We drove 1hr each way to get to our appointment today and for me, it was totally worth the drive! We will be coming back for weekly sessions and I will definitely recommend Eastside to family and friends!

Hi, I could not thank Edwina enough for the work she has done with my son. I am truly so grateful, my son is a completely different child and everyone comments on how far he has come. I now mention he did speech and some speech pathologist cannot believe it and comment on how good he is and that his speech pathologist did an amazing job. Edwina equipped me with tools to help progress my son between lessons, she knew exactly what to work on and now to incorporate tasks that I could complete at home with my son. My son’s confidence to speak now is unbelievable. From where he started from basically saying one word sentences to now continuous talking and comprehending and asking questions. Now he has friends because he can communicate, Edwina gave myself and my son a gift that no amount of words could express our appreciation. My son misses visiting Eddy’s house and cries when we drive past. Eastside speech provides a beautiful service, and are changing lives for the better. I would recommend this service to everyone I know without a doubt.

My children (ages 7 and 11) currently see Ainsley and Emily for their respective speech and language challenges. I can’t thank Ainsley and Emily enough for their collaboration (between therapist and parent) in goal setting and approaching speech therapy in a positive, relevant and creative way. Our sessions are always pre-planned and are very much tailored to the kids’ individual needs and interests. The therapists are always respectful, professional and caring. Thank you to the team at Eastside Speech Solutions for their ongoing support over the years and meeting my kids where they're at in development.

Highly highly recommend! Ainsley and her team are the reason why my daughter can speak! Her specific therapy and intervention has achieved outcomes for our daughter beyond what we thought was possible. Professional, evidence based practise and therapists who care for our girl. Life changing for our daughter and optimistic for her future now she can communicate a lot better than before. We are so grateful to have been recommended to come to Eastside.

Caitlin and the Team at Eastside Speech were wonderful in assisting my daughter with correct sound development prior to starting school. Caitlin was highly professional, engaging, thorough and so much fun! The sessions were well planned, varied and tailored to my daughter's interests; she loved going to 'play' at speech, while gaining the language skills she needed. I couldn't recommend Caitlin and the team highly enough.

Eastside Speech Solutions - Team became a second home and part of our family. We started working together when our son was diagnosed with autism (speech delay). They received us with open arms and a big smile 🙂 Week by week, they support our son and us with their experience and knowledge. Full of love and patience. Early intervention with the right therapist can change lives, and Tina (our superhero Therapist) changed our lives for the better. Teaching Gaspi not only to talk but also to connect, interact and play interact with his family and environment. We will always be grateful for their amazing work and support 🙂

I can’t recommend them enough! My son is trilingual and it can be tricky as each letter sounds differently in each language, and I noticed that he would mix up some of the sounds between the languages. But Alyssia has been incredible with him. She patiently helped him with the different English sounds and made every visit fun for him. She also helped him improve his vocabulary which increased his confidence too. As a bonus: she helped him in English but as a bonus he now doesn’t mix up the letters and sounds for the other languages anymore, as if something had clicked for him. Highly recommend!

Our son has been receiving speech therapy from Tina at Eastside Speech Solutions for the past five years, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support he has received. The entire team has been kind, patient, and truly dedicated to helping him grow. My son feels comfortable and encouraged during both face to face and telehealth sessions and has shown great improvement in his speech and confidence over the years. We are so thankful to Tina and other Eastside Speech Solutions staff and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and professional speech therapy team.

We are so grateful to have Tina as my daughter’s speech therapist. She is kind, patient, and very dedicated to helping her improve her speech. I’ve noticed such a positive difference since she started working with Tina. Each session is engaging and supportive, and my daughter always looks forward to attending. Thank you, Tina, for all your hard work and care — it has truly made a difference!

We have had the most incredible experience with Sofie! My son was 20 months and could only say 'mumma' and 'dadda.' After Sofie worked with him and us, we had the tools to promote more language and help our son form specific sounds. Through play, my son developed his language skills and now, at 2.5 years old, is speaking in full sentences. We are so grateful to Sofie for her help. Sofie is softly spoken, calm and made my son feel so comfortable with her that he was excited to see her each week. We were unsure whether he was too young to begin speech originally but now I am so thankful that we have as he is now at the same level as his peers. Thank you, Sofie!

Amazing centre with lovely and highly competent staff. Spent several months working with Alyssia and my son to help with his lisp. He made amazing progress and when he was finished he didn't want to stop going because he enjoyed his time so much.

Extremely helpful. I have facial palsy due to a traumatic accident I had years ago, and the team has helped markedly in improving not only my communication, but quality of life. They were informative, straight to the point, and laid out what I needed to do.

Not only was the reception incredibly friendly, but Caitlin proved professional, clear, and able to jam-pack our session with extremely helpful tools to get my voice back on track.

Telehealth Speech Therapy FAQs

How does speech pathology via telehealth differ from telepractice?

Telehealth refers to the provision of healthcare services and information through telecommunications technology. It includes multiple services, such as medical consultations, remote patient monitoring, health education, and administrative functions, covering numerous healthcare fields.

On the other hand, telepractice specifically relates to delivering professional services like speech pathology using telecommunication technology. It is a branch of telehealth focused on services traditionally delivered in person by professionals like therapists and educators.

Therefore, while all telepractice is telehealth, not all telehealth is telepractice.

If you feel uneasy about using telepractice, it’s crucial to discuss your concerns with your healthcare provider. Many providers offer flexible options, such as audio-only sessions, allowing you to receive help without using video. Some practices also provide a mix of in-person and remote sessions to help you gradually adapt to telepractice. Your comfort is essential for effective treatment or therapy, so don’t hesitate to ask for alternatives.

Yes, NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) funds can be used for speech pathology services provided through telepractice. The NDIS acknowledges telepractice as a legitimate way to deliver essential services, ensuring that individuals can receive the support they need regardless of their location or mobility issues. This flexibility helps ensure consistent care.

For a telepractice session, you generally need:

  • A stable internet connection.
  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone.
  • A quiet, private space to participate without interruptions.

The required software or application for the session, such as Zoom.

Telehealth can be as effective as in-person sessions for many services, including speech pathology. Research has shown that telehealth can achieve similar outcomes to face-to-face care, especially for follow-up appointments, ongoing therapy, and routine assessments. However, the effectiveness may vary based on the individual’s needs, the condition being treated, and the type of service provided. It’s important to discuss with your healthcare provider to determine the best approach for your particular situation.

Yes! Many families combine telehealth speech therapy and in-person sessions to suit their needs. If you’d like to try both or switch depending on your situation, we’re flexible and happy to work with you to ensure consistent progress in your therapy journey.

For younger clients, telehealth speech therapy is a team effort. Parents or caregivers play an active role by helping with tasks like setting up materials, guiding attention, and encouraging participation. Our therapists provide clear instructions so you feel confident supporting your child during each session.
